13:2 we see here that Abram was rich. It seems safe to assume that part
of his riches was as a result of the payment that he received from pharaoh in
the land of Egypt.

|
13:2 What we see in Egypt is a synopsis of what is to happen in the
future to Israel.
If you think of sarai as Israel, she is in the possession of pharaoh.
But pharaoh and his house is plagued as a result pharaoh chases Abraham and
his wife from Egypt, but not without ‘spoiling the Egyptians”. Similar to
what happened inn the future when Israel left Egypt and took all the gold
from Egypt.

Why was it necessary to say that these people dwelled in this land?
|
It seems that the point was to be powerfully made that the land that
Abram was to possess was not un-inhabited land. Although people lived there
Abram was going to get the Land because the Lord had said so.

12:6 vs 13:7
|
|
|
|
13:11 Lot went east. It seems consistent that every time there is a
eastward movement that is an indication that this person is moving away from
God.

|
13:18 Everywhere Abram went he builded an Altar. It is obvious that
Abram had a relationship with God forhimself.

This was my most ambitious project. I had hoped to provide a verse by verse commentary of the entire bible. However, my computer was stolen and I did not get to upload all the commentary I had documented up to Joshua. I was devasted by the theft and did not continue the commentary.
